Skyrim by aora Skyrim by aora
I've been playing some Skyrim recently, and I think in 12 hours of gameplay I've only done about three or so actual quests.

I realised pretty early on that I wasn't interested in playing the game as intended, so I instead opted to ditch the world map/quick travel system and become some sort of wandering alchemy hobo.

I know it sounds stupid, but I'm really enjoying myself. The world is so vast and beautiful that walking through it is incredibly immersive and calming. Lots of places also remind me of parts of Scotland - I'm basically using it as a rambling simulator.

And somehow my character is still levelling! I really appreciate the game design that I can do nothing but skip around picking flowers and hunting elk and still get gameplay rewards.

Heh heh! When I'm in a weird mood, I just wander around to find something or someone to fight with. I even Fus Rah Dah on a friendly NPC down to a waterfall. His name is Maji the Liar (I may have misspelled his name). He never dies, and I reload my auto save a few times just to blow him away once more or twice.
I really want to finish the main quest and be done with it, but Skyrim has so much for me to explore, fight, and complete other quests.

When I see this masterpiece, it feels like one of the game concepts the developers of Skyrim used to imagine what their own world would look.
You would have added a dragon (like Alduin) in the skies, to make this wonderful art more awesome and beautiful at the same time. But that's just me!
You did a very great job on this! Two thumps way UP!

That's what I'm doing now. >w< The first time I got the game, I completed the main questline then went on to a few others. I only recently started playing again. This time, I'm pretty much just wandering around and doing things at random. I haven't even gone to Bleak Falls Barrow yet.

that drawing is beautiful!  You really captured the cold and feel of Skyrim with it.  If I may ask, I'd like to use it as a drawing within theskyrimblogs.com on my character's profile, here's where it'll be located once I finish: theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/r…
I'll give full credit of course

Thank you! Also, that sounds absolutely fine as long as the credit's there. Enjoy your RP. :)

Really awesome atmospheric work here! Being an alchemy hobo sounds fabulous. I'm Scottish too, and me complimenting nature does tend to go like "it looks like Skyrim."

You play just the way I do,

I do a few quest, but I've been playing this game for a year and never finished the main quest or anything close to it, I'm just wondering around.

Beautiful artwork, reflects the wonderful world of Skyrim perfectly <3
